Thankful

We have plenty to be Thankful for. First of all we have each other, a baby on the way, a wonderful family, and great friends. But before Thanksgiving, our Uncle Paul and Uncle Steve were both in Motorcycle accidents with in a week. Both had many serious injuries and our still trying to recovery from them. We wish them well and a quick and full recovery.

Katie and I went to Katie's grandmas for Thanksgiving and she had prepared us a delicious feast of an assortment of food. It was almost perfect, but the Lions lost once again ruining what should have been a perfect day.

Later that night we got all our Christmas decorations out of storage and put them up along with our tree. Katie does a very beautiful job with it all. There are even some presents already under it ready to go. Christmas is just around the corner.

Next week Katie and I will be going to visit the doctor again and it's one of the more important appointments as we start the discussion on labor routine, and more importantly for Katie, the pain meds. My guess is she's going to need them, and could actually use some now. She's been amazing through the whole process though. This Thursday she will be 36 weeks, which is full term and will leave only 4 weeks to go! Wow!

Katie also had yet another baby shower last week at school from all the staff. Yet again we were very surprised by the amount of gifts. She came home with a car full of clothes, blankets, and other baby stuff. Just when you thought you had more then you need, now we have more then we will every need. I'm pretty sure she as one outfit for everyday next year. Thank you everyone!

Thanks for everything,

7 Weeks to Go!

33 weeks in and 7 weeks till the due date. For anyone that has been pregnant before you probably know more then we do about how accurate it can and cannot be. Once again the official due date is January 7th, but after two ultrasounds the technician has come out with measurements to lead it to be January 3rd and December 31st the second time. So sometime around the new year.

Here is Madelyn at 20 weeks.

28 WEEKS

Things have been quite busy as the date approaches. Katie has had two baby showers one in Michigan for the Michigan family/friends and one for the Indiana family/friends here in Brownsburg. We are so blessed to have such amazing family/friends on both ends. After the two weekends we came away with everything we needed, plus some! We can not say enough. Thank you to everyone especially my mom, Aunt Patty, Krista, and Cara for putting the showers together.

Don't worry about Jake as he was taking care of by his dad as they went up north for Iceman where he finished 7th in the pro mountain bike race. Then the following weekend his father in law took him to his first Butler basketball game with his brothers in law and Uncle Steve during the baby shower.

As you can see he looks to be happy to be heading to the basketball game.

The glowing soon to be Mom in front of a the much appreciated gifts. She's finally looking pregnant.

Opening the gifts.

Jake's dad came down after the first shower to help get the room finished off. He is very handy as he basically rebuilt his own house outside and in. Paul or should I say Papa was the perfect man for the job. They hung up the chair railing, put the crib together (which Jakes team got for us!), and hung up the letters for Madelyn's name. After the second shower Jake got to put his skills to work as he put the dresser, changing table, and stroller together under the close guidance of his wife. He was exstatic when he got to use his electric drill for the first time which he got from his Papa.

The crib with letters above.

The whole room looking through the doorway.

The next 7 weeks will continue to be very busy, but exciting with Thanksgiving, Jake's birthday, Christmas, and the expected Madelyn. Nothing is better then spending time with family, and this year we will bring in another member.

Thanks again to everyone!

We are almost 30 weeks pregnant. My due date is January 7, 2010. We are having a baby girl. We are going to name her Madelyn Sue. My plan is to try and update this at least once a week if not more.
